“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing. ” ― Walt Disney Company
Disney World located in Florida is covered in palm trees and hot humid air. Having never been there how are you supposed to know how to dress for the weather or be prepared for the conditions of a place that is so far away? That was my struggle. Therefore, this is to tell you how to deal with such issues as I have been through this situation myself.
In Florida, the temperature rarely drops under 70 degrees so I would not count on being very cold at all. Pack clothing you feel is very comfortable but light enough for the hot weather. The park itself consists of 6 different subsections: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Typhoon Lagoon, and Blizzard Beach. Since there are so many places to go and walk, it is essential that you wear shoes that are comfortable and flexible enough for you to be able to walk around in all day through these parks.
Disney World has many different resorts. Depending on your interests and funds, you may find a resort for you. You want to bring items for the pool such as a swimsuit, flip flops, sunscreen, and towels if you’d rather use your own and not the resort’s. The resorts come with multiple facilities and activities that you can only find at that specific location. Depending on where you are interested, you may want to bring other items.
Disney World’s parks are full of thousands of people each day, everyone is excited to be in the fantasy world of Disney to meet the different characters and go on themed rides. Therefore, there is a lot of little sweaty kids and parents running around so bring light and flexible clothing.
Unfortunately, you are unable to bring food or drinks into the park. Though, you can bring in other things like a backpack, a towel if you intend on going water rides or swimming, sunscreen to reapply throughout the day since you will be walking through the sun for most the experience, sunglasses and hats all depend on preferences and comfortability under the sun.
For the little ones, it’s especially recommended to bring a camera! Take photos! The parks are beautiful so take pictures of yourself or your kids with the different Disney characters. Either bring or buy a little autograph book, where different characters can autograph their names. This little book is a nice memory for kids to have from visiting Disney World.
